Healthcare IT Leaders is partnering with a large, nationally recognized healthcare organization on a critical Workday Financials implementation that is approaching major go-live.

We are seeking an experienced Workday Financials Functional Lead to take ownership of the Financials workstream through implementation, deployment, go-live, and post-production stabilization.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a senior Workday Financials consultant with a strong background in healthcare provider environments, enterprise ERP transformations, and full-cycle Workday Financials implementations.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with Finance, IT, executive stakeholders, and System Integrator (SI) teams to validate solutions, resolve functional issues, manage risks, and ensure the organization is prepared for production and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Workday Financials functional workstream through implementation, go-live, and post-production stabilization.
  • Validate and optimize the Workday Financial Data Model (FDM) and Chart of Accounts (COA).
  • Review, assess, and refine financial business processes and Workday configuration.
  • Ensure readiness for financial reporting, accounting operations, and period-end close.
  • Review and audit implementation partner/SI deliverables for quality, completeness, and alignment with Workday best practices.
  • Identify gaps and provide strategic recommendations to improve the Workday Financials solution.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, business stakeholders, and executive leadership to resolve functional challenges.
  • Drive issue resolution while maintaining alignment with project milestones, deployment objectives, and organizational priorities.
  • Support risk identification, mitigation, and escalation throughout the implementation and stabilization phases.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and mentor internal support teams transitioning from legacy ERP systems.
  • Support production readiness activities and help establish a smooth transition into ongoing Workday operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience leading Workday Financials implementations in a Functional Lead, Client-Side Lead, or similar senior leadership capacity.
  • Experience with multiple full-cycle Workday Financials implementations.
  • Healthcare provider experience is required.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Workday Financial Data Model (FDM)
    • Chart of Accounts design and validation
    • Accounting Center
    • Financial Reporting
    • Financial business process configuration
    • Financial close and production readiness
  • Proven experience reviewing, challenging, and validating System Integrator (SI) deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of Workday Financials implementation methodology and best practices.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within complex enterprise environments.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large, complex healthcare organizations.
  • Prior experience transitioning organizations from PeopleSoft or other legacy ERP platforms to Workday.
  • Consulting background with experience managing or supporting enterprise-scale ERP transformations.
  • Experience working through go-live, stabilization, and transition to production support.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and functional teams.

Logistics

  • Remote position with at least monthly onsite travel to New Jersey
  • All required travel expenses will be covered by the client.
  • Candidates located in the Northeast U.S. are strongly preferred.
  • Highly qualified candidates located elsewhere in the U.S. will also be considered.
