Job description
About the Role
Join a small, fast-growing aerospace and defense technology team as its first dedicated electrical engineer. You will own the flight computer for an upcoming satellite mission and contribute to the electronics and compute systems that support AI inference in orbit.
What You'll Do
Design and own the satellite flight computer, with delivery as the primary early priority.
Build prototypes, bring up hardware, and debug systems hands-on in the Los Angeles lab with engineering leadership.
Work with manufacturing partners to develop electronics and compute systems for a larger satellite platform.
Shape high-speed interconnect designs, including NVLink and SerDes, and evaluate photonics and optical interconnects.
Write firmware and platform software for payload systems as needed.
What We're Looking For
Experience ranging from early career to 15 years in electrical or computer engineering, with at least one year at a high-growth startup or experience in a zero-to-one environment.
A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
End-to-end custom board or system-board design experience, including schematics, high-speed PCB layout, bring-up, and debugging.
Knowledge of high-speed digital design and signal and power integrity fundamentals.
Experience with chip-level systems such as GPUs, accelerators, SoCs, or large ASICs is valuable.
Relevant experience may include photonics, optical interconnects, networking, contract manufacturers or ODMs, and space, satellite, or radiation-hardened hardware.
Familiarity with embedded C/C++, firmware, Linux, and Python is useful.
Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $120,000 to $220,000 annually.
Location
On-site, five days per week in Los Angeles, California.
