Job Description
An independent not-for-profit company in Wallingford, Oxfordshire is looking for a
part-time HR Manager with a min of CIPD 5, to join the company working 3 days a week,
1 day can be from home but you must be in the office on a Wednesday.
What you'll be doing:
Lead all HR matters across the group-HR policy, procedures, and employment documentation
Coach and mentor line managers to handle performance, grievance, disputes, and disciplinary matters confidently and fairly
Drive training and development priorities, using feedback and appraisal outcomes to build practical learning plans
Support recruitment and retention of high-quality people, guiding managers through every stage of the process
Own workforce planning, succession planning, and organisational development to meet current and future needs
Champion employee engagement, wellbeing, and organisational culture-helping make the organisation an employer of choice
Take ownership of relevant employer accreditation achievements and ongoing maintenance
Provide trusted, strategic HR insight and challenge to the Executive Leadership Team
What you'll bring:
Experience leading HR matters and applying employment legislation to real-life situations
CIPD qualified level 5-7 (Level 7 desirable)
Strong leadership and communication skills-comfortable presenting to large groups and at board level
A problem-solver mindset with a methodical, practical approach
Confidence navigating conflict with discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality
Intermediate IT proficiency (MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook)
Awareness of health and safety requirements in a complex environment, including risk assessment and compliance
Additional information:
Ability to travel nationwide to connect with the business and better address HR issues
Comfortable working remotely alongside a small, supportive head office team
You need to have exceptional communication skills and foster good and supportive working relationships whilst maintaining professionalism. You need to be able to manage, dissolve conflict, and maintain strict confidentiality and be an excellent listener.
Salary offered is c 40k, pro rata c 24k, 9am - 5pm, life assurance and company pension,
F-T 27 days and bank holidays (p/t 16 days plus 5 bank holidays) an excellent working environment in the Office with the team plus parking.
