Finance Lead/Manager– Healthcare
Location: Eagan, MN-Hybrid
Position Summary
The Healthcare Finance Manager will oversee financial operations with a strong focus on healthcare billing, revenue cycle management, reimbursement, and financial reporting. This individual will work closely with finance, billing, clinical, and operational teams to improve revenue performance, ensure billing accuracy, reduce outstanding accounts receivable, and maintain compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage healthcare billing and revenue cycle activities, including charge capture, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, collections, and account reconciliation
• Monitor billing performance and identify opportunities to improve reimbursement, reduce claim denials, and accelerate cash collections
• Analyze accounts receivable aging, payer trends, contractual adjustments, write offs, and reimbursement variances
• Oversee month end close activities, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure billing practices comply with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, HIPAA, and organizational requirements
• Partner with coding, clinical, finance, and operational teams to resolve billing issues and improve processes
• Review payer contracts and evaluate reimbursement terms and financial impact
• Develop reports and dashboards related to revenue, collections, denials, days in accounts receivable, and other key performance indicators
• Lead billing process improvements and support system implementations or upgrades
• Manage, mentor, and develop billing and finance team members
• Support audits and provide documentation related to billing, reimbursement, and financial controls
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field
• Seven or more years of healthcare finance or revenue cycle experience
• Extensive experience with healthcare billing, claims processing, reimbursement, denials, collections, and accounts receivable
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and payer requirements
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, and operational performance
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills
• Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, and organizational abilities
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or a related field
• CPA, CMA, HFMA, CRCR, or similar professional certification
• Experience with electronic health record, practice management, billing, or enterprise resource planning systems
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD 10, and healthcare reimbursement methodologies
