Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Contract

Location: Big Spring, TX 79720 (1901 US-87)

Pay Rate: $35.00 / hour

Job Type: Full-time, 6-Month Contract (Minimum)

Job Summary

We are seeking six (6) dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for a 6-month minimum contract position in Big Spring, TX. Under the supervision of the Unit RN and Unit Nurse Manager, you will deliver quality patient care, manage medication administration, and maintain high standards of patient documentation.

This position includes a 2–3 week on-unit mentorship program with a seasoned LVN to ensure full orientation and smooth onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide comprehensive patient care, including administering medications, performing prescribed treatments, and providing patient medication education.
  • Documentation & Data Entry: Accurately log patient records and complete computer data entry (full software/data entry training provided).
  • Compliance & Standards: Adhere strictly to facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Joint Commission guidelines, CMS Standards, BSH Policy and Directives, and HHSC Standards, Rules, and Directives.
  • Collaborate effectively with RN Unit Managers, multidisciplinary care teams, and facility staff.

Schedule & Hours

  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Shift Details: Alternating schedule to meet staffing needs; every other weekend off
  • Mentorship: 2–3 weeks of on-unit training alongside an experienced LVN
  • Start Date: ASAP (Start dates available M–F; requires 5 days lead time for pre-employment clearance)

Job Requirements

  • Licensure: Active and unencumbered Texas or Compact LVN/LPN license.
  • Health & Background Requirements:
    • Must comply with Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) immunization requirements.
    • Must complete HHSC-required drug screening and fingerprinting background check.
  • Training: Must complete all facility- and HHSC-required onboarding modules and training.
