Job Description

Sr. Software Engineer – Clinical Software
Location: Fremont, CA
Work Model: Hybrid 
Experience: 5+ Years

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software systems supporting laboratory operations and cloud-based clinical platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience with Python or Java, AWS, REST APIs, and relational databases, preferably within LIMS, healthcare, biotech, genomics, or clinical laboratory environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and software features for laboratory operations.

  • Build and optimize REST APIs using Python and/or Java.

  • Develop and maintain applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.

  • Design, implement, and optimize relational database solutions.

  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure application reliability and scalability.

  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and documentation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.

  • Strong proficiency in Python or Java.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, REST APIs, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

  • Experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, version control, and CI/CD practices.

  • Experience in LIMS, healthcare, biotech, genomics, clinical laboratories, or a related domain.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Flask or FastAPI.

  • Familiarity with React, Angular, or Vue.js.

  • Experience with Docker and containerized applications.

  • Exposure to graph databases or NoSQL technologies.

  • Experience working in regulated environments.

Important: Candidates must have 5+ years of experience and demonstrate Python or Java, AWS, REST APIs, relational databases, and relevant domain experience.
