Job Description

The Technician Sanitation General is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining production and common areas to support a safe, clean, and food-safe manufacturing environment. This role performs sanitation duties in accordance with established guidelines and specifications.

This is a 3rd shift position (generally between 10:30pm to 7:30am)

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize production areas, equipment, tools, footbaths, drains, and other work spaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards for materials used in production areas.
  • Foam, scrub, and rinse production floors, common areas, and restrooms.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of offices and facility common areas.
  • Track and update sanitation logs and cleaning records.
  • Monitor cleaning supply inventory and request replenishment as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of PPE, chemicals, paper products, soap, trash bags, and other sanitation supplies.
  • Follow established sanitation, safety, and food manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to learn and follow sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to learn and safely use chemicals utilized in food manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to learn proper waste disposal and trash handling procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Work Environment

  • Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays as needed
  • Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 35°F to 95°F, with occasional exposure to temperatures above 95°F.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands and arms.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery, cleaning chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Ability to work in environments ranging from normal office noise levels to loud manufacturing conditions.
