As a Senior Portfolio Manager - Investment Data Services, you'll provide strategic leadership across investment data governance, model risk management and portfolio intelligence automation. You'll play a critical role in ensuring investment data is trusted, governed and leveraged effectively to support investment outcomes, operational excellence and robust risk management.
Working within our Defensive and Liquid Assets and Portfolio Intelligence team, you'll establish and execute a cohesive data strategy that integrates governance, analytics, automation and emerging AI capabilities across the investment lifecycle. You'll partner with investment, technology and risk leaders to deliver scalable solutions that enhance insights, efficiency and decision-making across a complex investment environment.
You'll also lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and high performance while ensuring strong governance, compliance and oversight practices are embedded throughout the function.
This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane or Sydney.
ResponsibilitiesDay to day, you'll:
- Lead and execute the Investment Data Services strategy across data governance, model risk management and portfolio intelligence automation.
- Build, coach and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team focused on innovation and delivery excellence.
- Establish and embed robust investment data governance frameworks, including data quality, metadata, lineage and business glossary management.
- Oversee investment model risk management practices, including validation, governance and performance monitoring.
- Drive the development and adoption of AI-enabled and automated workflows that improve operational efficiency and investment decision-making.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver integrated data, analytics and automation solutions.
- Ensure strong governance, controls and compliance aligned to regulatory expectations and organisational risk frameworks.
- Influence senior leaders across investments, technology and risk to achieve strategic outcomes.
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You bring extensive experience within investments, asset management or financial services, coupled with strong exposure to data, analytics or technology.
- Your track record includes leading teams across data governance, model risk management, analytics or automation functions.
- You'll have deep knowledge of investment processes, asset classes and the role data and models play in decision-making.
- You're experienced in establishing and operating data governance frameworks, including data quality, metadata, lineage and standards.
- You have demonstrated expertise in model validation, governance and performance monitoring practices.
- Your understanding of modern data platforms, cloud technologies, APIs and workflow automation is highly developed.
- You'll be confident influencing senior stakeholders and building trusted relationships across complex environments.
- You're experienced in applying AI, machine learning or automation solutions within investment or data-driven functions.
- You have familiarity with platforms such as Bloomberg, Aladdin, FactSet, Snowflake, Power Platform or similar technologies.
- Your knowledge of data management, governance and regulatory expectations strengthens your ability to manage risk effectively.
