Technologist-Mammography Lead

Job DescriptionJob Summary\nOperates imaging equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. performs other duties as assigned, including lead responsibilities.\nResponsibilities\n\n Performs imaging procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.\n Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.\n Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.\n Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established protocols/guidelines.\n Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures.\n Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.\n Participates in departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.

Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.\n Coordinates patient scheduling, assign tasks to other Mammography Technologist, and monitor the overall workflow to ensure efficient and safe patient care.\n Provide clinical instruction, train new staff, and assist in ongoing education and competency assessments for the team.\n Oversee quality contr ol testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring the mammography equipment functions optimally.\n Oversee required documentation for a successful MQSA program.\n Completes assigned goals.\n\nSpecifications\nExperience\nMinimum Required\n\n 6 months experience in mammography.\n\nPreferred/Desired\nEducation\nMinimum Required\n\n Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.\n\nPreferred/Desired\n\n Associates degree in related field\n\nTraining\nMinimum Required\nPreferred/Desired\nSpecial Skills\nMinimum Required\n\n Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory.

Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work\n\nPreferred/Desired\nLicensure\nMinimum Required\n\n Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry in Radiography ARRT (M); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.
