About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect Cloud, Data & Generative AI to provide enterprise-level architecture and technical leadership across cloud, data, AI/ML, and Generative AI initiatives.

The ideal candidate will combine strong cloud architecture and enterprise solution design experience with hands-on knowledge of AI/ML, Generative AI, data platforms, APIs, security, DevOps, and multi-cloud environments. This role will guide engineering teams from architectural strategy through implementation while ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, maintainable, and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture and technical decision-making for complex cloud, data, analytics, AI/ML, and Generative AI initiatives.
• Design and guide implementation of AI/ML, GenAI, and agentic AI solutions.
• Develop architecture strategies across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake, and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
• Design highly available, resilient, fault-tolerant, secure, and scalable cloud solutions.
• Develop FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.
• Architect microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Provide architectural guidance for LLMs, AI infrastructure, GenAI design patterns, and AI orchestration.
• Support enterprise data warehouse, ETL/ELT, semantic modeling, BI, analytics, and reporting solutions.
• Design secure APIs and integrations across enterprise platforms and services.
• Ensure solutions align with security, privacy, technology governance, and AI governance requirements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and architectural patterns and provide recommendations.
• Identify architectural risks, dependencies, constraints, and technical debt and develop mitigation strategies.
• Guide engineering teams through implementation and ensure adherence to architecture and engineering standards.
• Provide guidance on CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and observability.
• Develop architecture diagrams, technical recommendations, implementation roadmaps, standards, and other technical documentation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and technical support organizations.
• Provide technical mentoring, architectural oversight, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

• 15+ years of overall IT experience in senior technical roles such as Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Application Architect, or Enterprise Architect.
• 10+ years leading technical aspects of software/solution implementation projects using established SDLC methodologies.
• 7+ years architecting, designing, and implementing AI/ML and/or Generative AI solutions.
• 5+ years of cloud architecture experience using AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform in large or complex environments.
• 3+ years designing high-availability and fault-tolerant systems and implementing cloud cost optimization strategies.
• 2+ years of experience with:
• AI infrastructure
• Agentic AI workflows and orchestration
• Generative AI architecture/design patterns
• Cloud strategy and FinOps
• Hybrid and multi-cloud environments
• Security, compliance, and AI governance
• 2+ years designing microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and API-based solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for technical and business audiences.
• Ability to work onsite in Sacramento/West Sacramento 2 3 days per week.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Snowflake Cortex, AWS Bedrock, cloud ML platforms, LLMs, semantic layers, and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with enterprise data warehouses, ETL/ELT, data modeling, analytics, and BI.
• Experience supporting large-scale public-sector or government technology initiatives.
• Experience with PMI PMBOK, SAFe, IEEE, or comparable industry frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Snowflake SnowPro Advanced Architect, or comparable cloud/AI architecture certifications.
• Experience providing technical consulting services for complex solution implementations.
