Job Description

Embedded Software Engineer | La Jolla, CA | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a leading organization at the forefront of electronic warfare and national security. This company specializes in research and development of advanced electronic design and chiplet manufacturing, transforming complex processing algorithms into real-time software systems for critical defense applications. The Role

  • Contribute to the design and development of advanced embedded systems within multi-disciplinary teams, including systems engineering, hardware, firmware, and signal processing experts.
  • Develop software across various microarchitectures such as DSP, ARM, or RISC-V.
  • Implement software for multi-core embedded systems, ranging from bare-metal to real-time operating systems and Linux environments.
  • Write low-level code (e.g., C) to interface with Control Status Registers (CSRs) and hardware components.
  • Build and document test plans, procedures, and software requirements specifications.
  • Validate hardware performance and operation under various conditions through software.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and build tools (e.g., GCC, CMake).
  • Solid understanding of hardware-software interaction and computer architecture fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration tools.
  • Experience with software testing tools and methodologies, including unit testing frameworks and TDD.
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
