Job description

Avam is an applied and materials sciences company developing biology, chemistry, and materials science products for testing, research, manufacturing, and cleaner energy applications. Working at the intersection of science and product development, the team focuses on bringing technically rigorous products to market that support customers across a range of scientific and industrial use cases.

This Product Manager role will help shape how Avam’s scientific product portfolio evolves to meet customer needs and market opportunities. You will work closely with technical and commercial partners to guide product direction, align priorities, and support decisions that balance scientific depth with business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Define product strategy and roadmap for Avam’s scientific product portfolio.
  • Set priorities for Avam’s products and customer experiences, aligning the work with the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Gather input from visitors, staff, and other stakeholders to understand needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop clear product plans, goals, and timelines, and keep work moving from idea through launch.
  • Coordinate with teams across the organization to plan, deliver, and improve products, programs, or services.
  • Define how success will be measured and track results such as customer feedback, participation, revenue, or other agreed-upon goals.
  • Use research and performance data to recommend changes and guide future product decisions.
  • Manage product budgets, schedules, and competing requests; raise risks or resource needs early.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about priorities, progress, decisions, and results.
  • Ensure products and experiences are accessible, consistent with Avam’s values, and useful to the people they serve.
  • Document product decisions, processes, and lessons learned to support ongoing improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 4+ years of product management experience in biotechnology or life sciences.
  • Experience managing scientific products from discovery through commercial launch.
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into actionable product requirements.
  • Experience with scientific product areas or technical environments such as biotech research tools, diagnostics, lab instrumentation, manufacturing workflows, and cleaner-energy materials applications.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration across research, engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection for remote work.
