Navigation Systems Engineer | Newport, RI, United States | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a respected defense contractor known for its cutting-edge warfare systems. This organization is a leader in delivering advanced solutions for sea and air applications, leveraging deep software and engineering expertise.

The Role

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on navigation systems, their interfaces, and requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with customers and colleagues on assigned projects.
  • Perform systems engineering and integration for submarine programs, including planning and execution of testing.
  • Manage the complete development cycle for software, hardware, and web applications, from specification to maintenance.
  • Oversee the creation of hybrid products through the entire lifecycle.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience through advanced military technical training and 7+ years in military systems.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in navigation systems from a design, test, or operational capacity on U.S. Navy submarines.
  • Comfort working in shipyard and/or military environments.
  • Computer literacy, self-motivation, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
