Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of modern data products and drive our migration from Oracle to Snowflake, including the re-platforming of existing Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) workflows onto Snowflake. The ideal candidate combines strong architectural expertise with hands-on experience in data governance, data modeling, and cloud data platforms, and can translate business needs into scalable, governed, and reusable data products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the end-to-end data architecture for data products, from source ingestion through to consumption layers.
  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using erwin Data Modeler, ensuring consistency and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Lead the migration strategy and execution for moving data and workloads from Oracle to Snowflake, including schema conversion, data migration, validation, and performance tuning.
  • Re-engineer and migrate existing IICS (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services) workflows to Snowflake-native pipelines (e.g., Streams, Tasks, Stored Procedures, Snowpipe) or modern ELT patterns.
  • Design and implement data products with clear ownership, documentation, SLAs, and reusability in mind.
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards, including data quality, metadata management, lineage, cataloging, and access controls.
  • Define data modeling standards and modern architecture patterns such as the Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC), data security, and compliance measures within Snowflake.
  • Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to align architecture with business and product goals.
  • Provide technical leadership, conduct design/code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Optimize for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency across the Snowflake platform.
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, data models, migration runbooks, and governance artifacts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect designing and delivering enterprise data solutions.
  • Hands-on experience implementing data products and data platform architectures.
  • Strong hands-on experience with erwin Data Modeler for designing and managing enterprise data models.
  • Strong experience in data governance (data quality, lineage, metadata, cataloging, access management).
  • Practical experience with Oracle (data modeling, PL/SQL, performance tuning).
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake (warehouses, stages, Streams, Tasks, Stored Procedures, Time Travel, RBAC).
  • Experience with IICS (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services) for data integration and ETL/ELT workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with database/platform migration, ideally Oracle to Snowflake.
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ELT best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Good to Have (Preferred)

  • Experience with cloud platform AWS and cloud storage (e.g., S3) for staging and integration
  • Experience with schema conversion / migration accelerator tools (e.g., SnowConvert).
  • Knowledge of Python or Snowpark for data transformation and automation.
  • Exposure to CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and DataOps practices.
  • SnowPro Advanced Architect certification.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
