The Role
- Design vessel structures meeting specification requirements, creating models, drawings, and bills of materials.
- Perform structural analysis and design for marine fabrication and shipyard projects.
- Develop and review structural drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Support production personnel during the construction phase and participate in sea trials.
- Evaluate and disposition non-conformances, repairs, and deviations related to structural work.
- Coordinate with planners, weld engineers, and production leads to ensure designs are executable.
What You'll Need
- BS in an engineering discipline (Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering preferred).
- Five (5) years of marine experience, with vessel design and construction experience being a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ABS, USCG, NAVSEA, AISC, and relevant shipbuilding codes.
- Strong computer skills including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, Ship Constructor, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions from complex documents.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
