Enforcement Lawyer - Data Management/Policy

The role
Joining aspecialist enforcement division, you will provide legal advice on datamanagement, information governance and related regulatory policy matters,supporting multi-disciplinary investigation teams working on complexenforcement cases.
Keyresponsibilities will include:

• Advising on data management, information governance and regulatory policy issues within ongoing investigations.
• Supporting the development and implementation of data management strategy, policies and procedures.
• Providing guidance on compliance with UK GDPR, data protection legislation, freedom of information requirements and related legal frameworks.
• Advising investigative teams on the handling, protection and governance of sensitive and confidential information.
• Drafting practical legal guidance, training materials and policy documents.
• Working closely with legal, policy, technology and operational stakeholders.
• Engaging with government departments, regulators and other external bodies on data management and policy matters.
• Supporting the instruction and management of external counsel on complex legal issues where required.

The role offersexposure to significant regulatory investigations, strategic policy developmentand high-quality legal work within a collaborative and intellectuallystimulating environment.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be aqualified Solicitor or Barrister entitled to practise in England & Wales 2-5PQE (guidelines only), with experience advising on data protection, information governance and relatedregulatory frameworks.
You will alsodemonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information legislation and wider data governance principles.
• Experience advising on the management of confidential, personal and sensitive information.
• Excellent legal analysis, judgement and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to assess and mitigate information governance and data management risks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
• The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent legal research, project management and organisational skills.
