JLD Recruit Ltd is working with a growing, family run HVAC business to recruit an experienced Air Conditioning Service Engineer.

With most work across Cambridgeshire, this is an opportunity to take on varied commercial servicing and repair work with a supportive employer offering ongoing training and room to progress.

The opportunity

You will take responsibility for planned maintenance visits, diagnose faults and complete repairs on commercial air conditioning systems. Alongside scheduled servicing, you will attend reactive breakdowns, maintain accurate service records and provide a professional service to customers.

The role suits an engineer with practical air conditioning experience who can work independently and approach technical problems confidently.

What you will be doing

• Servicing and maintaining air conditioning equipment at commercial premises.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.
• Attending reactive breakdowns.
• Completing service reports and associated paperwork accurately.
• Maintaining customer relationships and working safely on site.

What you will need

• Relevant experience in air conditioning servicing and maintenance.
• Current F-Gas certification.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic ability.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• A professional approach and the ability to manage your own workload.

Salary and package

• £40,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Paid door to door travel.
• Company van and fuel card for business use only.
• Overtime available, with time and a half before 7am and after 6pm.
• Monday to Friday working hours, 8am to 4.30pm.
• 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, potentially negotiable for the right candidate.

Coverage and travel

Most work is across Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas, with occasional work in London. A home location in or around Cambridge would be ideal.

The business is based in Braintree, Essex, where parts will normally need collecting. Depending on the job, parts may instead be delivered to site or collected from a local supplier.

There is currently no on-call rota, although one may be introduced in future.
