Job description
At Stark, we forge the future of European and national security through cutting-edge, AI-driven technology and unmatched engineering precision. As a premier defence technology company, our mission is clear: to equip NATO Allies and their partners with next-generation autonomous defence platforms and advanced AI-driven software built to perform in the world’s most demanding environments.
We believe that true security stems from relentless innovation. By combining elite engineering talent with agile technology and an AI-native operational culture, Stark turns complex defence challenges into field-tested, multi-domain solutions.
WHY JOIN US
- The software and systems you work on directly protect personnel and defend European and national sovereignty.
- You will work alongside industry-leading minds on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion, and secure cyber platforms.
- We foster a fast-paced, collaborative environment where bold ideas are supported by serious R&D backing.
ABOUT THE TEAM
You will join our cross-functional hardware engineering group focused on delivering next-generation autonomous defence platforms. Our team collaborates closely across mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering to bring complex hardware projects from initial design to field readiness. We value agile execution, rigorous technical standards, and open communication in a fast-paced environment.
YOUR MISSION
As Senior Hardware Project Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of complex hardware engineering projects for next-generation autonomous defence systems. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams, manage hardware supply chains, and align project milestones with company strategic goals to deliver field-tested, mission-critical hardware solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO AT STARK
- Lead end-to-end hardware development projects from concept and prototyping through to production readiness.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, embedded software, and quality engineers.
- Define project schedules, resource allocations, risk mitigation plans, and budget tracking.
- Manage key external suppliers, manufacturing partners, and component procurement processes.
- Ensure hardware compliance with industry and defence qualification standards and safety regulations.
- Facilitate design reviews, milestone gates, and technical reporting for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE MISSION
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading complex hardware engineering projects.
- Demonstrated track record managing full hardware lifecycles from initial prototype to volume manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of hardware engineering fundamentals, supply chain operations, and manufacturing processes.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication and organizational skills.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in defence, aerospace, automotive, or robotics industries.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent agile/project management certification.
- Knowledge of military or defence standards (e.g., MIL-STD, STANAG, ISO 9001).
If you're interested in building the future of European Defence with us, and you see yourself reflected on the description above, please send us your CV in English. We're looking forward to meeting you!
SECURITY CLEARANCE
Due to the nature of our work in the defence sector, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for this position. Details will be provided during the recruitment process.
