CCTV Technician

Description
We are looking for a skilled CCTV Technician to support the installation, service, and performance of video surveillance and security systems in New Braunfels, Texas. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with low-voltage cabling, network-connected devices, and electronic security equipment in the field. The role involves hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and direct interaction with customers to keep systems operating reliably and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Install and set up surveillance solutions that include IP and analog cameras, recording hardware, video software, and related security components. Respond to service requests by identifying faults, repairing system issues, and restoring proper operation for surveillance and access control equipment. Pull, terminate, organize, and verify low-voltage cabling such as Cat5e, Cat6, fiber, and coax for new installations and upgrades.

Program and connect network-based devices including cameras, switches, routers, and wireless equipment to support secure and dependable system performance. Complete routine inspections, planned maintenance, and equipment updates to improve reliability and extend system life. Investigate technical issues involving hardware, software, connectivity, or power and resolve them in a timely manner. Use blueprints, wiring layouts, and technical documents to guide installation and service work accurately.

Provide basic user instruction on system features and day-to-day operation when customer support is needed. Keep detailed records of service activity, installation details, and equipment usage while following safety expectations and customer standards. Requirements
At least 3 years of experience working with CCTV, video surveillance, or electronic security system installation and troubleshooting. Proven background with IP cameras, access control platforms, and low-voltage cabling methods used in commercial environments.

Practical understanding of IP networking, including switches, routers, VLANs, and basic network diagnostics. Ability to operate hand tools, meters, cable testing devices, and certification equipment safely and effectively. Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach to field service and technical support. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client locations as required. Experience with platforms such as Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, Verkada, Axis, Hanwha, Lenel, CCure, or Brivo is an advantage.

Industry or manufacturer certifications related to low-voltage or security systems are preferred. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.
