Job Description

About Afficiency

Afficiency is a rapidly growing Insurtech company whose mission is to provide life insurance to everyone via both our proprietary platform and in collaboration with our carrier and distribution partners. We design and deliver life insurance products that can be purchased in an entirely digital environment for both agents and their customers. We are looking for new team members to join us on our journey to shake up the life insurance industry. We need individuals who bring passion, curiosity, and a desire for excellence.

Job Overview

Afficiency is seeking an Account Manager to support and grow relationships with our distribution partners. Reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer, this individual will play a critical role in onboarding new partners and agents, coordinating successful launches, and driving ongoing engagement and growth across Afficiency’s distribution network.

This is a high-activity role that requires exceptional organization, urgency, resourcefulness, and follow-through. The Account Manager must be able to manage numerous partner needs and workstreams simultaneously while using AI, automation, and other productivity tools to create a scalable and consistently high-quality partner experience.

The successful candidate will be highly solutions-oriented and proactive in identifying impediments to success, whether within their own responsibilities or across agent onboarding, contracting, and partner launch processes. This person will work collaboratively with internal teams to understand root causes, develop practical solutions, and continually improve operational performance and the partner and agent experience.

Success in this role means more than completing assigned tasks. The Account Manager is expected to identify what may prevent partners and agents from succeeding, take ownership of moving issues forward, and work across the organization to develop solutions that improve onboarding speed, contracting efficiency, partner performance, and the overall distribution experience.

Responsibilities

Partner and Agent Onboarding

Lead onboarding activities for new distribution partners, ensuring a seamless and well-organized launch experience.

Support the onboarding and contracting of agencies, agents, and other distribution partners, helping ensure requirements are completed accurately and efficiently.

Serve as a primary point of contact for partners and agents throughout the onboarding and implementation process.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders across Growth, Operations, Licensing and Contracting, Compliance, Product, and Technology to drive successful launches.

Develop and maintain onboarding plans, timelines, deliverables, responsibilities, and success metrics for each partner.

Monitor onboarding and contracting activity, identify incomplete requirements or process bottlenecks, and proactively drive outstanding items toward resolution.

Anticipate potential impediments to onboarding, contracting, integration, or launch and address them before they affect timelines or the partner experience.

Identify recurring points of friction and work with the appropriate teams to implement practical, scalable solutions.

Account Management and Partner Success

Build trusted relationships with distribution partners and serve as their primary day-to-day contact.

Manage a high volume of partner and agent communications, requests, meetings, deliverables, and follow-up activities.

Maintain a clear understanding of each partner’s priorities, performance, open items, impediments, and growth opportunities.

Conduct regular business reviews and identify opportunities to increase sales, engagement, and partner satisfaction.

Monitor key performance indicators and provide partners and internal stakeholders with actionable insights and recommendations.

Proactively identify issues that could affect partner or agent success and coordinate the appropriate internal resources to resolve them.

Support partner retention and expansion by identifying unmet needs and opportunities to deepen the relationship.

Solutions Development and Continuous Improvement

Proactively identify impediments that could prevent the Account Manager, an agent, or a distribution partner from achieving a successful outcome.

Investigate the root causes of delays, errors, recurring questions, or underperformance rather than addressing only the immediate symptoms.

Bring forward thoughtful recommendations and potential solutions rather than simply escalating problems.

Work collaboratively with internal teams to design and implement improvements to processes, technology, communication, documentation, and training.

Look for patterns across partner and agent experiences and use those insights to identify broader improvement opportunities.

Develop practical, scalable solutions that improve onboarding speed, contracting efficiency, data quality, partner responsiveness, and overall performance.

Monitor the effectiveness of process improvements and refine solutions based on performance data and stakeholder feedback.

Activity Management and Process Optimization

Manage numerous accounts, projects, agent onboarding cases, contracting activities, and partner workstreams simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

Maintain clear visibility into account activity, ownership, deadlines, dependencies, impediments, and next steps.

Establish effective systems for prioritizing work, documenting decisions, tracking commitments, and ensuring timely follow-through.

Develop scalable processes, templates, workflows, and reporting practices that enable Afficiency to support a growing partner and agent base.

Use AI, automation, CRM, and productivity tools to improve workflow efficiency, prepare communications, summarize meetings, organize information, maintain documentation, and identify required follow-up.

Apply sound judgment when using AI tools, including reviewing outputs for accuracy, protecting confidential information, and complying with company policies.

Identify repetitive or manual activities that can be standardized, automated, or completed more efficiently.

Use reporting and operational data to identify delays, trends, capacity constraints, and opportunities for improvement.

Sales Enablement and Business Growth

Create and maintain product, training, marketing, and sales support materials tailored to partner needs.

Help partners and agents understand Afficiency’s products, capabilities, processes, and value proposition.

Identify opportunities to drive additional business and expand existing partnerships.

Coordinate training and enablement activities that help partners and agents successfully market and sell Afficiency’s products.

Track onboarding progress, partner activities, communications, and growth opportunities within CRM and partner management systems.

Share partner feedback and market insights with internal stakeholders to help inform product, process, and growth strategies.

Must Have

Experience

3 or more years of experience in account management, customer success, relationship management, partnership management, implementation, operations, or business development.

Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of activity across multiple accounts, projects, and stakeholders.

Experience coordinating complex onboarding or contracting processes involving multiple stakeholders, requirements, systems, and dependencies.

Experience improving workflows, reducing friction, or increasing operational efficiency in a high-volume environment.

Technical Skills / Exposure

AI-enabled productivity tools and workflow automation platforms

Experience with insurance licensing, appointments, agent onboarding, or contracting is preferred

Desired Competencies

Solutions-oriented and proactive, with the ability to identify impediments, investigate root causes, and develop practical recommendations.

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with exceptional prioritization and consistent follow-through.

Strong client-facing communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Comfortable managing many concurrent activities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Collaborative and effective at coordinating work across Growth, Operations, Compliance, Product, and Technology.

Analytical and capable of using performance metrics to identify risks, trends, and opportunities.

Technologically curious and able to quickly learn and adopt new tools and processes.

Sound judgment when using AI, including accuracy review, confidentiality, and quality control.

Takes ownership of outcomes and knows when to solve independently, engage others, or escalate.

Within the first 3 months, the candidate will:

Establish strong working relationships with assigned partners and relevant internal stakeholders.

Independently manage a high volume of partner, agent onboarding, and contracting activities with accurate tracking and timely follow-through.

Implement practical AI-enabled templates, workflows, or automations that improve efficiency without compromising quality or confidentiality.

Establish a consistent cadence for partner performance reviews, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
