Job Description

Join Ythan Bridge Dental Centre!

We’re looking for a full-time Dental Nurse to become part of the friendly team at Ythan Bridge Dental Centre in Ellon.

Situated in the centre of Ellon, Ythan Bridge Dental Centre is a modern and forward-thinking practice providing dental care to both adults and children. Our focus is on delivering high-quality treatment while helping patients achieve and maintain excellent oral health.

The practice has four contemporary, fully equipped surgeries and provides a broad mix of NHS, private and cosmetic dentistry. Our services include facial aesthetics, tooth whitening, hygiene appointments, dental implants, including CHROME GuidedSMILE, and clear aligner treatments.

We make use of modern dental technology and equipment to support our clinicians in delivering excellent clinical outcomes, while ensuring our patients receive a comfortable and positive experience throughout their treatment.

The practice is conveniently located close to Ellon’s shops, cafés and local amenities, with free parking available outside. Being situated beside the River Ythan also gives the team the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant walk during a lunch break.

You’ll be joining an established team that includes several experienced, long-standing Dental Nurses, providing a supportive environment in which to settle into the practice and become part of the wider team.

The Position

As a Dental Nurse, you will work closely with the clinical team, providing effective chairside assistance and supporting the smooth running of the practice and surgeries on a daily basis. You will contribute to delivering a high standard of patient care while following relevant clinical procedures, health and safety requirements and practice policies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping patients feel comfortable and relaxed by providing a friendly and reassuring welcome throughout their visit.

  • Keeping patient information accurate and up to date by making effective use of Software of Excellence and the practice’s internal systems.

  • Preparing the dental surgery for each clinical session, ensuring everything is organised and ready to support an efficient patient journey and effective use of surgery time.

  • Working proactively with clinicians by identifying what they and their patients will need ahead of appointments, including ensuring the correct equipment, instruments and laboratory work are available.

  • Checking and managing surgery supplies, monitoring stock levels and arranging replenishment when required.

  • Providing reception support when needed, which may include handling incoming calls, arranging patient appointments and processing patient payments.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who is committed to providing excellent patient care and who will be a positive addition to our practice team.

You will have:

  • Current GDC registration and the relevant requirements to practise as a Dental Nurse.

  • Previous experience within either an NHS or private dental environment would be an advantage.

  • A genuine commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and ensuring patients receive a positive experience.

  • The confidence to work independently, while also contributing effectively as part of a wider clinical team.

  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to develop your knowledge and build new skills.

  • Experience assisting with dental implant procedures would be beneficial, although this is not essential.
