About the Role:

As our Night Auditor, you will combine exceptional guest service with overnight financial and operational responsibilities to ensure the hotel is prepared for a successful new business day. You will oversee the Front Desk during overnight hours, assist guests, complete the daily audit process, reconcile financial transactions, and ensure the safety and security of the hotel throughout the night.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, enjoys working independently, and is committed to providing outstanding guest service.

Your Impact – Overnight Operations

You will play a critical role in maintaining seamless overnight operations by balancing guest service with financial accuracy. Your attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to work independently help ensure operational excellence while creating a safe and welcoming environment for overnight guests.

What You'll Be Doing

Front Desk Operations

  • Welcome and assist guests during overnight hours with professionalism and hospitality
  • Complete guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and reservation modifications
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery situations
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and provide information about hotel services and amenities
  • Maintain accurate guest records and ensure guest confidentiality

Night Audit & Financial Responsibilities

  • Complete the nightly audit process and reconcile daily financial transactions
  • Balance guest accounts, room charges, payments, and departmental revenue
  • Generate and distribute daily operational and financial reports
  • Verify cash, credit card, and payment transactions for accuracy
  • Prepare the hotel for the next business day by completing required system updates and reports

Overnight Hotel Operations

  • Monitor hotel activity and ensure smooth overnight operations
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and hotel leadership as needed
  • Perform routine property walkthroughs to identify maintenance or safety concerns
  • Support late arrivals, early departures, and overnight guest needs

Safety & Security

  • Monitor hotel entrances, public areas, and overnight activity
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, guest incidents, and safety concerns
  • Follow hotel emergency procedures and security protocols
  • Report suspicious activity, maintenance issues, and operational concerns promptly

Team Collaboration

  • Communicate important operational updates to the morning Front Office team
  • Prepare shift handover notes and daily reports
  • Support other departments during overnight operations as business needs require
  • Foster a positive, professional, and guest-focused work environment

Technical / Role-Specific Requirements

    • Previous Front Desk, Night Audit, hotel accounting, or hospitality experience preferred
    • Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (Opera Cloud preferred or similar PMS)
    • Basic accounting, cash handling, and financial reconciliation experience
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
    • Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and reconcile daily transactions

Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience in a full-service or lifestyle hotel preferred
    • Knowledge of hotel accounting principles and night audit procedures
    • Experience handling guest service recovery and conflict resolution
    • Bilingual abilities are a plus

Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
    • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
    • Ability to work overnight hours with sustained focus and attention to detail
    • Comfortable working independently while maintaining a guest-facing presence

Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Associate's degree or coursework in Hospitality, Business, Accounting, or a related field is a plus
    • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
