We're supporting an ambitious and growing business in the search for a Service Planning Manager to lead the planning and coordination of maintenance activities across a nationwide customer base.

This is far more than a scheduling role. You'll become the central point of contact for engineers, customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring maintenance programmes are delivered efficiently, emergency call-outs are managed effectively and service standards remain exceptionally high.

With significant growth planned, this role offers the opportunity to shape processes, improve service delivery and develop into a wider leadership position over time.

The Role

As Service Planning Manager, you will take ownership of the maintenance planning function, ensuring engineers, resources and customer commitments are coordinated effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and scheduling annual maintenance programmes across 450+ customer sites
  • Coordinating engineer workloads, travel and site visits
  • Managing reactive maintenance and emergency call-outs
  • Owning and developing the service scheduling system
  • Leading weekly planning meetings with field engineers
  • Monitoring service tickets and ensuring timely resolution
  • Managing customer communication and maintenance reporting
  • Coordinating installation handovers and follow-up inspections
  • Working closely with purchasing and operations teams to maintain stock levels
  • Supporting holiday planning and resource allocation across the engineering team
  • Driving a proactive approach to service delivery and maintenance planning

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience in planning, scheduling or coordinating field-based teams.

You may currently be working as a:

  • Service Planning Manager
  • Senior Service Planner
  • Maintenance Planner
  • Field Service Coordinator
  • Engineering Scheduler
  • Logistics Coordinator
  • Operations Planner
  • Service Delivery Coordinator

You'll ideally possess:

  • Proven experience in a planning, scheduling or coordination role
  • Experience supporting field-based engineers or service teams
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder and customer management abilities
  • Confidence using scheduling, ERP or service management systems
  • A proactive approach with a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • High attention to detail and strong administrative skills

Experience within engineering, maintenance, utilities, facilities management, logistics or field service environments would be highly advantageous.

Why Apply?

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing business where you can genuinely make an impact. You'll have the autonomy to improve systems and processes, influence the future direction of the service function and play a key role in supporting ambitious growth plans.

If you're a highly organised planning professional who enjoys coordinating people, improving processes and delivering exceptional service, we'd love to hear from you.
