Job Description

We are seeking experienced Front End Developers / User Interface Designers to support major projects within the Corporate and Digital Division of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. The role focuses on delivering human centric digital services through design and development of intuitive, accessible interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Define user centric designs and iterate to add value based on user feedback.
• Develop user interface designs, prototypes, high fidelity interfaces, and user flow specifications.
• Plan and conduct user experience evaluations to ensure usability and accessibility requirements are met.
• Advocate user centric design solutions with developers and back end engineers.
• Translate designs, wireframes, and prototypes into production ready modules.

Requirements

• Experience implementing responsive UI components for web applications using HTML/CSS and ReactJS or Angular.
• Proficient with prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, or Azure.
• Understanding of design principles, style systems, and WCAG 2.1 level AA accessibility guidelines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience translating usability testing findings into actionable UI improvements.
• Experience designing wireframes, UI, and interactive prototypes with rapid iteration.
• Tertiary qualification in design, computer science/ICT, or related discipline (Human Factors, Graphic Design, Systems Design, Psychology, Computer Interaction, Web Development, etc.).
