AI Engineering Lead

Introduction:

As the AI Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers working on artificial intelligence and machine learning systems. You will oversee both the central platform team and delivery pods, ensuring engineering standards are met and projects are delivered successfully.

Responsibilities:

• Manage engineers across the central platform team and delivery pods (mix of contractors and internal engineers)
• Own engineering standards: code and agent quality, review practices, definition of done, production readiness
• Own contractor performance and the conversion pipeline with the sourcing partner
• Partner with the platform lead on the paved path - templates, pipeline, evals - and ensure compliance
• Unblock delivery daily; keep pods shipping without becoming a gatekeeper

Requirements:

Must have:

• 8+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years managing engineers working on AI/ML or LLM systems in production
• Experience managing blended teams of contractors and employees while maintaining a high quality standard
• Hands-on experience in reviewing agent architectures, prompts, and eval suites
• Ability to operate in a flat, fast structure and comfortable in a player-coach role

Nice to have:

• Experience in healthcare or regulated industries, and scaling a team from less than 10 to 30 or more
