Job Description

Data Analyst/Developer - Power BI & Databricks -London- £450-£550 per day (inside IR35)

Hybrid working - 4 days per week in office + 1 day WFH

Inside IR35

Leading investment management client is seeking a Senior Data Analyst/Developer to assist with their migration onto Azure and Databricks, alongside a transition from Tableau to Power BI. Someone who can help accelerate the conversion of their existing reporting estate while also helping establish the future-state reporting architecture.

Today, a large proportion of their reporting follows a pattern of SQL extraction, Alteryx transformation and publication to Tableau Server. We are looking for someone who can work hands-on with the team to migrate existing Tableau dashboards to Power BI, whilst helping define best practices for semantic models, data consumption patterns and report development directly from Databricks. A key objective is reducing dependency on intermediary Alteryx workflows where appropriate and moving towards a more scalable and maintainable architecture.

In addition to delivery, we would expect you to bring thought leadership and practical experience in the following areas:

  • Tableau to Power BI migration approaches and tooling.
  • Power BI semantic model design and governance.
  • Direct integration with Databricks and modern data platform architectures.
  • Performance optimisation and report scalability.
  • Self-service reporting and business adoption.
  • Establishing standards, patterns and reusable approaches that can be adopted more broadly across the team and experience of mentoring more junior members of the team.

The role is expected to be hands-on, working directly with stakeholders, data sources and reporting solutions, whilst also helping shape how we approach reporting and analytics as part of the broader transformation.

At this stage we are considering applicants from all industry backgrounds, though preference will be given to anyone with investment banking or ideally investment management.
