Import/Export Trade Compliance Manager - Automotive Manufacturing

The Trade Compliance Manager oversees import and export compliance for Honda's U.S. operations. This role leads a team managing customs valuation, HTS classification, origin, and preferential trade programs, while supporting export controls and supply chain security. The manager develops strategy, leads projects, trains staff, and coordinates regulatory reporting. The position interacts with customs authorities, brokers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to reduce risk and keep parts flowing efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct associates handling import/export operations, local content reporting, and preferential trade programs to ensure compliance.
• Develop and manage trade compliance strategies and large operational projects.
• Serve as subject matter expert on customs, valuation, HTS classification, country of origin, and preferential trade rules.
• Train team members on program requirements, regulatory updates, and audit findings.
• Establish performance goals, development plans, and succession plans for trade compliance staff.

• S. and foreign government agencies, customs brokers, suppliers, and vendors on trade issues.
• Oversee regulatory reporting, documentation accuracy, and responses to customs or export inquiries.
