Employment Type: Apprenticeship / Full-time

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Site Engineer to join our engineering and maintenance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their engineering career who wants to develop practical technical skills in a fast-paced warehouse and automation environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on experience supporting reactive repairs, preventative maintenance, fault finding and equipment inspections.

You will combine on-the-job experience with formal learning to develop your knowledge across mechanical, electrical and automation systems while working towards completing your apprenticeship programme.

  • Support experienced engineers with reactive repairs, preventative maintenance, equipment inspections and fault diagnosis.
  • Develop your technical skills through hands-on training, formal learning and completion of apprenticeship requirements.
  • Build your knowledge of automation, conveyor, AutoStore and warehouse technologies.
  • Support equipment availability and reliability to help maintain effective warehouse operations.
  • Accurately complete maintenance documentation, job sheets and ticketing systems.
  • Follow all Health & Safety requirements, company policies and 5S standards, identifying and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, operations teams and vendors, providing a professional and helpful service.
  • Contribute to improvements in equipment reliability, maintenance processes and operational efficiency.
  • A basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles, with an interest in developing your technical knowledge.
  • A proactive approach to learning, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to apply new knowledge in a practical environment.
  • An interest in automation, conveyors, AutoStore and warehouse technologies.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions, take responsibility and know when to escalate concerns.
  • Confidence using computers and Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A strong commitment to safe working practices, 5S and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
  • A professional and helpful approach, with an understanding of how equipment reliability and downtime impact warehouse performance.
  • A willingness to travel between UK sites when required.
