Sr. Network Engineer

Position Summary

The organization is seeking a senior-level Network Engineer with expertise in network segmentation and security. This role involves developing and implementing secure network architectures, managing enterprise security solutions, and providing technical leadership to support high availability, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing new integration standards, configuring firewall and cloud security policies, and enhancing overall cybersecurity measures in a complex IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform security administration by configuring and documenting firewall access rules, working with core network infrastructure devices, and managing cloud-based firewall and security policies.


• Lead firewall deployments, rule migrations, and the conversion of existing security policies onto new platforms.


• Develop and maintain security documentation aligned with industry and organizational standards.


• Design, implement, and manage enterprise security solutions covering network infrastructure, data, systems, cloud environments, and web services.


• Craft secure network architectures, segmentation strategies, access controls, and encryption technologies.


• Develop, enforce, and review enterprise security policies, standards, procedures, and technical controls.


• Conduct security risk assessments and create risk mitigation strategies.


• Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats and security events.


• Investigate security alerts, review violation reports, and coordinate remediation efforts.


• Evaluate emerging network and security technologies; lead technical evaluations and product assessments.


• Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and consulting to internal stakeholders.


• Lead security initiatives from requirements and design through deployment and operational support.


• Review project designs for security risks and incorporate relevant controls into network and cloud solutions.


• Design and support enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud connectivity.


• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.


• Develop and monitor network performance and security metrics, creating dashboards and reports.


• Maintain accurate technical documentation for network and security configurations.


• Collaborate with diverse teams to develop integrated technology solutions.


• Mentor and guide network and security staff, establishing standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of combined IT experience.


• At least 5+ years of experience with security tools based on NIST standards.


• Strong knowledge of security issues and techniques across multiple computer platforms.


• Proficiency in configuring and managing security solutions such as Next Generation Firewalls (preferably Palo Alto or Checkpoint).


• Experience with schematic diagramming tools for infrastructure mapping.


• Ability to develop and implement enterprise security policies, risk assessments, and incident response strategies.


• Strong analytical skills for monitoring threats, vulnerabilities, and operational risks.


• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex network and security incidents.


• Proven capability to support and lead enterprise network infrastructure projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, CISSP, CCNP, or CCIE.


• Experience with enterprise network design, segmentation, and security architecture.


• Familiarity with cloud security configurations and monitoring.


• Experience in developing dashboards, KPIs, and management reports.


• Prior leadership or mentorship roles within cybersecurity or network engineering teams.
