Are you an experienced project professional looking for an exciting opportunity to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projects aligned to strategic organisational priorities?


Are you confident in managing project governance, reporting, budgets, suppliers, and project documentation while ensuring effective decision-making and timely escalation?

Within this role, you will lead the successful delivery of complex projects from planning through to implementation, while managing governance, risks, resources, budgets, and key stakeholder relationships. You will work collaboratively across teams to ensure projects remain aligned to organisational priorities, deliver agreed outcomes, and drive continuous improvement through effective project management and lessons learned.


What you will be doing

Manage the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects, generating project objectives, agreeing the project aim, creating and agreeing a clear scope from strategic objectives, generating and agreeing project plans and key milestones, dependencies, ensuring resource requirements are defined and maintained and including successful handover of project deliverables to BAU.


Establish and maintain robust project governance, including chairing Project Control Boards, success and benefit reporting, maintaining decision logs, and appropriate escalation of risks and issues. Create and present project gates for approval in project control boards and programme board receiving formal approval to progress to the next stage of the project lifecycle.


Develop and maintain project documentation, including, project briefs, project plans, RAID logs, business cases, procurement documentation, and change control records throughout the project life cycle.


Proactively manage and identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints, ensuring mitigations are identified, owned, and reviewed throughout the project lifecycle.


Engage, manage and influence internal and external stakeholders, adapting approach and communication style to ensure effective collaboration and progress.


Coordinate procurement and supplier activity where required, working with commercial and finance colleagues to ensure compliance with organisational processes. Monitor project budgets and financial forecasts, working with budget holders, external suppliers and Finance to ensure accurate cost tracking.


Provide accurate and timely progress reporting, highlighting delivery status, risks, issues, and decisions required.


Escalate significant risks, issues or any other concerns that may cause the project to fall outside of agreed tolerances.


Provide advice, guidance, and support to colleagues on project management approaches, tools, and standards.


Contribute to continuous improvement activity by capturing lessons learned and sharing good practice across project and programme teams. Provide input into organisational strategic objectives by offering insight and recommendations drawn from project delivery, supporting informed decision-making and prioritisation.


About you

Proven experience of managing projects from initiation through to delivery and successful handover to business-as-usual.


Strong knowledge of project governance, planning, risk and issue management, dependencies, change control, and project reporting.


Confident stakeholder manager with the ability to communicate, influence, and build effective relationships across internal and external teams.


Strong organisational and analytical skills, with experience managing budgets, suppliers, resources, and competing priorities.


Proactive and solutions-focused, with a commitment to continuous improvement, lessons learned, and sharing good practice.
