$45 - $56 per hour

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, a Fortune 500 consumer packaged goods company, is seeking a Data Migration Specialist to support the build-out of a clinical image library. In this hybrid role based in Summit/Skillman, NJ, you will be responsible for managing the transfer of critical data from physical media and external sources into AWS S3 storage, as well as supporting programmatic, batch-driven metadata entry into databases. You will own the hands-on data processing and migration work, ensuring data integrity and completeness throughout the process. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility initiative and gain hands-on experience with large-scale data operations in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Transfer critical data files from external hard drives, flash drives, and CRO-provided folders directly to AWS S3 storage buckets
  • Organize and structure digital image and data files to align with internal repository standards
  • Run and modify Python scripts to verify study completeness for high-impact studies
  • Use programmatic/batch scripts to enter metadata into corresponding database fields, extracting relevant information from file names and paths
  • Verify all files have been fully transferred from source and document transfer logs (e.g., total file count and file size)
  • Work in parallel across multiple data pathways-some routed through physical hard drives requiring onsite work, others through folder transfers-flagging and manually resolving files that fall outside scripted processes
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 1-4 years of database experience, with strong comfort working across database structures and metadata fields
  • Proficiency in Python for running and modifying programmatic/batch scripts used in metadata data entry
  • Experience with database/metadata entry, including basic SQL or structured data entry tools
  • Comfort with large-scale physical file transfer (external hard drives, flash drives) and handling sensitive physical media
  • Highly detail-oriented, with strong data organization and quality-control habits
  • Familiarity with AWS S3 (basic upload/organize functions) preferred
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
  • The opportunity to support a high-visibility initiative for a Fortune 50 Consumer Health company
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale data operations
  • Collaborative, fast-paced work environment
  • Potential for professional growth and skill development in data migration and cloud storage technologies
