Project Manager - HR Transformation (Contract)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a large-scale, cross-functional HR transformation initiative. This is a hands-on execution role focused on keeping multiple workstreams organized, aligned, and moving forward. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable driving day-to-day project activities across a complex stakeholder environment.
This position will work closely with project leaders, business partners, HR teams, and technical stakeholders to ensure project plans, risks, dependencies, decisions, and deliverables remain on track.

Employment Type: Contract (Estimated 3-6 Months)
Schedule: Standard business hours
Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Track actions, risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) across multiple workstreams.
• Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and capture follow-up actions.
• Drive accountability by ensuring stakeholders complete assigned actions and open items.
• Support status reporting and leadership communications.
• Create and maintain concise executive-level project updates and status presentations.
• Organize project documentation, meeting materials, and project artifacts.
• Coordinate activities across HR, business, and technology teams.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or obstacles impacting delivery.
• Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
• Support Agile delivery practices and project governance processes as needed.
• Ensure milestones and project objectives are achieved within established timelines.

Requirements
Required Qualifications

• 5-10 years of project management experience supporting complex business or technology initiatives.
• Proven experience independently managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining project plans, timelines, and status reporting.
• Experience managing risks, dependencies, action items, and project documentation.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Experience working within large, matrixed organizations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Project Management certification (PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or similar) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting HR transformation or enterprise HR initiatives.
• Familiarity with HR systems such as Workday.
• Experience using Smartsheet for project planning and tracking.
• Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation development skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale programs involving multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Scrum Master experience or Agile coaching exposure.
