Station Manager LMI - London Heathrow

Synopsis

Lead line maintenance shift execution to protect aircraft airworthiness, dispatch reliability, and safe service continuity across assigned operations. The role provides certification control, resource direction, and real-time coordination so defects are resolved within approved maintenance standards, disruption is contained, and maintenance activity remains compliant with company, regulatory, and safety requirements.

Accountabilities

•    Organize and direct line maintenance shift delivery against the daily operating plan, allocating certified engineers and technicians to priority aircraft, balancing defect recovery with turnaround demand, and re-sequencing work when disruptions, manpower gaps, or operational changes emerge to protect dispatch reliability and aircraft availability across the operating day
•    Authorize maintenance release actions within current privileges, verifying that work is completed against approved data, aircraft effectivity, and revision control before return to service, and escalating any limitation, anomaly, or non-conformance that could affect airworthiness or service continuity
•    Implement safety, security, and quality controls across the shift, including risk assessment for significant changes, SMS requirements, incident reporting, and the readiness of tooling, GSE, and technical references so maintenance activity remains safe, controlled, and audit ready at all times
•    Manage workforce readiness and discipline by maintaining staffing coverage, briefing incoming teams, monitoring duty fitness, and identifying development needs, training opportunities, and certification gaps so the shift retains the skills and authorizations required for planned aircraft types and operational recovery through handover and the following duty period
•    Coordinate directly with MCC, Maintenance Planning, Operations Control, and line stations to communicate incoming defects, agree action priorities, provide accurate technical feedback, and close unresolved items, ensuring the right resources and decisions are in place before aircraft return to service and during recovery
•    Monitor maintenance execution, paperwork, and record quality across the shift, ensuring work packs, technical records, and certification entries are completed accurately and on time, trends are reviewed, and recurring defects or process deviations are escalated with practical recommendations to improve reliability, reduce repeat intervention, and strengthen future planning
•    Lead line maintenance during operational disruption or the Senior Manager's absence, making timely local decisions within delegated authority, maintaining continuity of service, and escalating matters that exceed shift control so the department continues to meet safety, availability, and customer expectations throughout the duty period
People Management Responsibilities:
•    Lead and develop the team to ensure effective delivery of functional objectives, providing clear direction, guidance, and development support.
•    Guide day-to-day team leadership through coaching, support, and clear communication of expectations.

Education & Experience

Education:
•    Bachelor's degree in aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering preferred, or equivalent technical qualification
Experience:
•    15+ years in aircraft maintenance within airline or MRO environments
•    5+ years leading line maintenance, duty management, or shift coordination in a 24/7 operational environment
•    Experience managing certification control, defect recovery, and cross-functional recovery decisions across multiple aircraft types
Language Requirements:
•    Fluent in English
