As a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d), you'll work in a two-person team directly with our Director of IT and support six IT teams with infrastructure issues, provisioning, configuration management, deployments, and technical challenges. Our developers (m/f/d) will reach out to you when they need support with tricky issues. Together, you'll develop sustainable solutions, and you'll help the teams advance independently from a technical standpoint.
For us, automation isn't just a buzzword—it's the standard by which we measure our work—from Ansible roles to managing our Debian systems and the FortiGate firewall, all the way to using modern AI tools like Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT. Recurring tasks are consistently automated.

Practical Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in DevOps, Linux, or systems engineering.
Tech Stack: Very strong knowledge of Ansible and the operation of Debian-based Linux systems—alternatively, you have comparable experience with Chef or Puppet and are eager to familiarize yourself with our stack. Automation Mindset & AI Knowledge: You think in terms of scripts rather than click-through sequences, are proficient in at least one scripting language (e. G., Bash or Python), work with Git as a matter of course, and use AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT wherever they add real value to your daily DevOps work.
Supportive Spirit: You enjoy helping others, explain things clearly, and take pleasure in helping colleagues from other teams improve their technical skills.
On-site Team: You're eager to work with us in person at our Hamburg office—side by side with the teams you support.
Language Skills: Business-level German proficiency (at least C1) rounds out your profile. Your responsibilities will includeSupporting the IT Teams: The focus is on providing technical support to our six IT teams. You'll advise on infrastructure issues, assist with deployments, and help resolve complex problems or technical roadblocks. Responsibility for the operation of their applications and services remains with the teams themselves.
Automation: Recurring tasks should be automated—using Ansible, custom scripts, and Infrastructure as Code, you'll create reliable processes that function without manual intervention. This commitment to automation shapes both system administration and collaboration with the IT teams.
System Administration: Working in a two-person team, you'll manage our Debian systems and the FortiGate firewall—including configuration, hardening, patching, and ongoing development. Wherever possible, you'll automate recurring tasks.
