Join a high-profile program supporting the safe, responsible and effective adoption of artificial intelligence within a complex, security-focused environment.
We are seeking an experienced AI Governance, Assurance and TEVV Specialist to evaluate AI-enabled solutions, assess technical evidence and ensure emerging technologies meet the required standards for performance, security, reliability and responsible use.
What You'll Do- Support the governance, assurance, test, evaluation, verification and validation (TEVV) of AI and machine-learning solutions.
- Assess AI systems against technical, operational, security and responsible-AI requirements.
- Review technical evidence, performance results and vendor claims to determine whether solutions are fit for purpose.
- Identify risks, limitations, dependencies and assurance gaps across the AI lifecycle.
- Develop or apply governance frameworks, assurance methodologies, evaluation criteria and reporting processes.
- Provide clear, evidence-based advice to technical teams, decision-makers and senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to the responsible adoption of generative AI, large language models and other emerging AI technologies.
- A strong technical background in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Experience in systems engineering, test and evaluation, operational analysis or technical assurance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AI governance and Responsible AI principles.
- The ability to critically evaluate technical documentation, test results, supporting evidence and vendor claims.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
- The ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A minimum NV1 security clearance, with the ability to potentially upgrade to NV2.
- Experience within Defence, National Security, the Australian Government or the Defence Industry.
- Practical knowledge of generative AI, large language models and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Experience with technologies or platforms such as Azure AI and AWS AI/ML.
- Familiarity with the risks, controls and assurance considerations associated with deploying AI in sensitive or mission-critical environments.
