Compensation Range: $80,000-$111,000
Position Overview TAP Engineering is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) who will support the security and operational integrity of high-performance computing environments, including multi-vendor HPC servers, clusters, and specialized processing systems.
Working alongside experienced security professionals and engineers, you’ll help maintain compliance, manage security documentation, and protect systems processing classified information.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior ISSOs and the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in maintaining the security posture of systems, programs, and enclaves
- Implement and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and procedures in accordance with applicable ODNI and DoD requirements
- Develop, maintain, and update System Security Plans, certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation, and other security artifacts
- Assist with evaluating security solutions to ensure systems meet requirements for processing classified information
- Support configuration management of information system hardware, software, and firmware
- Maintain accurate inventories and records for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, network switches, and other system components
- Perform day-to-day security operations, monitor system security, and identify potential vulnerabilities or compliance issues
- Assist with maintaining the system’s operational information assurance (IA) posture
- Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms
- Coordinate security-related system upgrades, changes, and improvements
- Support security assessments, audits, and remediation activities as needed
- Collaborate with engineers, administrators, and security personnel to address technical and compliance requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (most recent poly within the last 7 years)
- DoD 8570 IAT I certification
- Working knowledge of information assurance, system security, and configuration management principles
- Familiarity with ODNI and/or DoD security policies and requirements
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and security teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, based on a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI/SBI). Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government. Factors considered for U.S. Government security clearance eligibility include, but are not limited to:
- U.S. citizenship
- Favorable criminal history review
- Education verification
- Drug and substance use review
- Credit history review
- Subject interview
