Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Electronic Warfare (EW) / Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to support the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWC‑WD) at Pt. Mugu. This role provides high‑impact engineering expertise for Airborne Threat Simulation, Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA), and complex integration/system development activities supporting fleet and test‑range missions.

Responsibilities

• Leads the development of end-to-end EW and RF mission system architectures spanning airborne, range and laboratory test environments in support of AEA IPT threat simulation and RF sensor program activities.

• Leverages subject matter expertise depth and breadth with strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with NAWC‑WD engineers and SAIC technologists, ensuring successful system readiness and mission execution. Serve as a senior technical advisor to EW engineers and SAIC portfolio leadership, providing engineering direction for multi‑disciplinary teams.

• Translates customer requirements into actionable engineering specifications through functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

• Architects and delivers scalable, efficient technical solutions by leveraging high‑fidelity RF threat simulations using intelligence‑derived emitter models. Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness. Applies and/or develops highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.

• Develops and validates RF architectures, digital receivers, signal processing flows, and EW technique implementations.

• Aligns development efforts for the EW/RF team with modern Systems Engineering practices in digital and model based systems engineering. Leverage industry SETR and IEEE guidelines to produce compliant engineering artifacts including specifications, test plans, integration procedures, and analysis reports.

• Support configuration and risk management by representing the EW engineering team in technical reviews, configuration steering boards, and readiness assessments.

• Serves as technical lead for capture activities, building strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders and producing high‑quality technical volumes, labor/material estimates, and customer‑facing solution narratives.

• Develop end‑to‑end EW mission‑system architectures spanning airborne, range, and laboratory test environments to support threat simulation, and RF sensor programs.

• Serve as a senior technical advisor to EW engineers and SAIC portfolio leadership, providing engineering direction for multi‑disciplinary teams

• Represent the EW engineering team in tech reviews, configuration steering boards, and readiness assessments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 18+ years of experience in EW/RF systems engineering, preferably in airborne EW environments.
• Deep understanding of RF subsystem design, modeling, simulation, and threat‑environment replication.
• Experience performing hardware/software integration and mission‑system validation.
• Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Prior support to NAWC‑WD or other Naval Aviation programs.
• Experience with EWIRDB, RF simulation tools (HFSS, CST, AWR/MWO, ADS), A2PATS/NEWEG, or emitter modeling workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary integration efforts.
