Position:  Cloud Engineer – Expert
Location: Triangle Region, NC | Hybrid/Onsite as needed
Type:        Contract (W2 Contract)
 
NCDIT-Transportation is seeking a Cloud Engineer – Expert to support the DMV NCMAX Cloud Infrastructure build. The candidate will help establish the Azure cloud environment from scratch and serve as a technical bridge between NCDIT-T and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, and security.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using DevOps methodologies.
  • Design scalable, reliable, secure cloud network solutions.
  • Support deployment of networks, VMs, load balancers, connectivity, and other cloud infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance to vendors and project teams.
Required:
  • 7+ years DevOps principles, practices, and tools.
  • 7+ years cloud infrastructure experience.
  • 7+ years cloud infrastructure best practices, including security, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Strong cloud networking, security, and IaC experience.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform; Azure strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Important:
  • Must be local to the NC Triangle region.
  • First-day onsite required for equipment pickup; initial onsite onboarding may be required.
  • Statewide travel required; contractor must use their own vehicle.
  • Onsite attendance may be required based on business needs.
