Junior Cyber Security & IT Support Technician

A financial services organisation in South Yorkshire is seeking a motivated Cyber Security & IT Support Technician to join its technology team.

This role offers the opportunity to develop practical skills across cyber security, networking, and IT support while working in a professional environment where technology and data security are critical to business success.

You'll gain hands-on experience supporting colleagues, maintaining IT systems, assisting with cyber security activities, and learning from experienced professionals within the sector.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the technology team, you'll be involved in a variety of day-to-day activities including:

IT Support

• Providing technical support to colleagues across the business.
• Assisting users with software, hardware, and connectivity issues.
• Setting up laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and user accounts.
• Troubleshooting common IT problems and escalating more complex issues when necessary.

Networking

• Supporting the maintenance of business networks and connectivity.
• Assisting with the configuration of switches, routers, and wireless technologies.
• Monitoring network performance and reporting potential issues.
• Learning how secure business networks are managed.

Cyber Security

• Monitoring security alerts and investigating potential threats.
• Assisting with security checks and vulnerability reviews.
• Supporting cyber awareness initiatives across the company.
• Helping maintain security documentation and compliance records.
• Learning how organisations protect sensitive financial data and systems.
