Job Description

Role: DevSecOps Google Cloud Platform Engineer

Location: Schaumburg, IL
Work Mode: Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite
Job Type: Contract
Duration: Long Term

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced DevSecOps Google Cloud Platform Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Google Cloud Platform, DevOps automation, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and cloud security.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience with GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) and Kubernetes
  • Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Cloud Run, and Compute Engine
  • Strong CI/CD pipeline development and automation experience
  • Experience with GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar tools
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps and cloud security
  • Experience with IAM, VPC, VPC Service Controls, Workload Identity Federation
  • Experience integrating SAST, DAST, SCA, and vulnerability scanning into CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Docker/containerization
  • Strong scripting/programming skills in Python, Bash, or Shell
  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Splunk, or Datadog
  • Good understanding of networking, security, and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage secure Google Cloud Platform cloud infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
  • Manage GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, and other Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
  • Implement security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Manage IAM, service accounts, workload identity, and cloud security policies.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot production and deployment issues.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and platform engineering teams.

Preferred:

  • Google Cloud Platform certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD and DevSecOps automation.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, highly available applications.
  • Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience is a plus.
