Sr Cybersecurity Technologist (Part Time)

Join a high-impact cybersecurity team supporting critical network operations in a 24/7 high-availability environment. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a hands-on technologist who enjoys solving complex network challenges through advanced Palo Alto firewall administration, packet analysis, and security policy implementation.
Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and support Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls in a mission-critical environment
• Manage and maintain GlobalProtect and Panorama for centralized security operations
• Implement and refine security policies, including NAT, security profiles, URL filtering, threat prevention, and SSL decryption
• Analyze network traffic and logs to troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis
• Use Wireshark and PAN-OS to investigate and resolve complex network and security incidents
• Support ongoing network reliability and security in a high-availability, around-the-clock setting

Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto technologies and configuration
• Strong experience supporting critical network operations in a 24/7 environment
• Deep knowledge of Palo Alto NGFW tools, including GlobalProtect and Panorama
• Experience with network security policy design and implementation
• Ability to conduct deep packet inspection and detailed log analysis
• Proficiency using Wireshark and PAN-OS for troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex issues

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience in a high-availability enterprise environment
• Familiarity with supporting critical infrastructure or similarly sensitive network environments
• Clear communication skills for documenting issues and collaborating with technical teams
• Adaptability and a proactive mindset in fast-paced operational settings
