We provide competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package to our full-time employees:

  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • FSA/HSA options
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Student tuition remission
  • Continued education savings through our university partners

Summary

The Human Resources Generalist supports cross-functional HR operations across Spring Education Group, partnering with HR Services, Benefits and Leave Administration, Workers’ Compensation, Payroll, and HRIS. This position coordinates time-sensitive documentation, maintains accurate employee and system records, responds to routine inquiries, and helps improve employee and school leader self-service resources. The role exercises discretion with confidential information and escalates complex matters to the appropriate functional owner. The role takes ownership of routine HR data and Dayforce HRIS audits, monitors outstanding items and deadlines, coordinates follow-up across teams, and tracks issues through resolution or escalation.

Responsibilities

Leave and benefits support

  • Complete time-sensitive California Employment Development Department forms in coordination with the responsible leave and benefits team, following established procedures and review requirements.
  • Prepare and process benefit cancellation letters for employees on leave who have not made required benefit payments, following approved guidance and escalation procedures.
  • Track outstanding leave and benefits documentation, maintain accurate records, and coordinate routine follow-up with employees and the appropriate internal teams to support timely processing.

Workers’ compensation support

  • Support case administration by organizing confidential documentation, maintaining records, and coordinating communications with employees and school leaders under the direction of the responsible team.
  • Track outstanding documentation and follow-up items, maintain case status records, and coordinate with designated internal contacts and claims administrators to support timely case administration.

Payroll support

  • Process expense reimbursement submissions according to established procedures.
  • Assist with garnishment paperwork and related Dayforce entries in partnership with Payroll.
  • Monitor California termination notifications and coordinate timely follow-up with Payroll and HR Services to support compliance with applicable final-pay deadlines and help mitigate potential waiting-time penalties. Track outstanding information and promptly escalate missing documentation, processing concerns, or potential delays to the appropriate owner.

HR services and onboarding

  • Sort and distribute incoming HR mail to the appropriate functional teams.
  • Follow up with school leaders on outstanding Form I-9 and onboarding documentation, maintaining accurate tracking and escalating overdue items.
  • Respond to routine employee and school leader questions, provide approved resources, and route complex inquiries to the appropriate team.

HRIS and Dayforce support

  • Maintain and update employee-facing Dayforce guides and job aids.
  • Own and manage recurring audits of employee data and system configurations in Dayforce, including full-time eligibility, pay classes, pay groups, 401(k) deferral rates, role access, and other key HR data. Identify and investigate discrepancies, determine appropriate corrective actions, and take the lead in implementing necessary system or data corrections within authorized access. Coordinate with HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, and other stakeholders as needed, document changes, and track issues through resolution to ensure ongoing data accuracy and integrity.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent audit schedule, document audit procedures and findings, track recurring discrepancies and corrective actions, and recommend process or system improvements to prevent recurring data integrity issues.
  • Support testing of Dayforce upgrades by executing assigned test scenarios, documenting results, and reporting issues.

Training and process improvement

  • Develop Dayforce walkthrough videos and learning resources for employees and school leaders to improve self-service processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative workflows, documentation, and service delivery across HR functions.
  • Maintain confidentiality, communicate accurately and promptly, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2–4 years of relevant HR operations or shared services experience, including exposure to benefits or leave administration, onboarding, payroll support, or HRIS data maintenance.
  • Experience using Dayforce strongly preferred; experience supporting a multi-state, multi-location workforce preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred, not required.

Essential skills

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines and time-sensitive requests.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential employee, medical, payroll, and benefits information.
  • Clear written and verbal communication and a responsive, service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work across functional teams, follow documented procedures, recognize exceptions, and escalate appropriately.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and HR systems, including reviewing data, documenting discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to create clear job aids and instructional resources and learn new systems and processes.
