Job Description

Point Solutions Group, a subsidiary of ClearanceJobs is assisting our Colorado Springs based client with their search for a Red hat Linux (RHEL) System Administrator to work on-site at Peterson Space Force Base, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is a 100% on-site position supporting the Space and Ground segment for protected MILSATCOM. An active Secret clearance and IAT Level II certification (eg: Security+, CASP, CAP, or CISSP) are required prior to starting. Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform daily systems administration and help desk tasks, to include building, monitoring, maintaining, patching, and troubleshooting physical and virtual systems primarily in RHEL, and secondarily in Solaris and Linux environments.
  • Write Ansible playbooks - enabling easy reconfiguration or rebuilding of server as needed.
  • Support infrastructure requests from Developers and Product Owners. Conducts research as needed in order to build and implement the required server stack.
  • Review & modify existing scripts written in Perl, Python, PowerShell, VBScript, to diagnose failures and adapt them to new business needs.
  • Manage File Systems (ZFS, UFS) to include partitioning, growing/shrinking file systems, and troubleshooting complex storage issues.
  • Configure and integrate Solaris with Active Directory for authentication.
  • PDOM/LDOM configuration and management.
  • Apply cybersecurity best practices to ensure high compliance status is met, to include STIGs, Nessus and ACAS scan remediation and Cyber documentation.
  • Maintain and develop documentation, as necessary.
  • Perform periodic COTS assessments to determine continued compliance, usage, and needs.
  • Troubleshoot any issues and provide support across the Information System.
  • Develop, integrate, and install periodic releases per customer requirements.
  • Create, update, and implement design documents for various aspects of the systems engineering lifecycle. Relevant Experience
  • Master's degree with 7+ years of professional experience or bachelor's degree with 9+ years of experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree (4 years towards Bachelor's, 2 years towards Master's requirement)
  • Hands-on Linux & Unix systems engineering experience across RHEL, Solaris and UNIX environments • IAT Level II certification required (eg: Security+, CASP, CAP, or CISSP) prior to starting • Active DOD Secret security clearance
  • Ansible scripting/automation.
  • Ability to read, diagnose and update existing automation scripts (Perl, Python, VB Script, PowerShell, etc.)
  • ZFS & UFS storage and file system management.
  • Understanding of Active Directory/LDAP integrations as they pertain to storage appliances in a cleared government contracting environment.
