Russell Tobin is seeking a Senior Marketing Strategy & Operations Program Manager to support the Marketing organization of a leading technology company.

This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong combination of marketing operations, strategic program management, and integrated marketing experience. You’ll help build the operating structure that enables a growing marketing organization to plan effectively, execute strategic initiatives, manage resources, and work seamlessly across teams.

The right candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment and can move between strategy and execution with ease.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic budget management and purchase order support across the marketing organization.
  • Own marketing budget tracking and reporting, partnering with Finance to maintain visibility into spend and identify opportunities for reinvestment.
  • Support marketing procurement processes, including vendor onboarding and systems that help keep purchasing organized and predictable.
  • Provide program management and strategic support for high-priority marketing initiatives.
  • Coordinate marketing business reviews, including gathering inputs, managing timelines, preparing materials, and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Build lightweight, flexible, and scalable processes and resources that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Support marketing onboarding programs and help identify opportunities to improve the experience over time.
  • Contribute to culture and community initiatives, including offsites, recognition programs, and learning and development.
  • Help translate strategic marketing priorities into clear plans, workstreams, owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner across Marketing, Product, Sales, Finance, and other teams to improve alignment and execution.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, marketing operations, brand marketing operations, business operations, strategy, chief of staff, or a related field.
  • Experience building a marketing operations or business operations function from the ground up within a complex, high-velocity, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Strong project and program management skills with the ability to coordinate complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous strategic objectives into concrete operational plans and actionable workstreams.
  • Experience designing campaign strategies that scale across Creative, Product Marketing, and external partners.
  • Experience building cross-functional programs and systems that connect Marketing with Product, Sales, and other teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing reporting frameworks, forecasting models, or performance measurement systems.
  • Experience building scalable frameworks, programs, and operational processes.
  • Experience supporting culture, community, onboarding, or learning and development programs for distributed teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working with AI tools and modern productivity platforms.

About the Opportunity

This role combines strategic marketing program management with hands-on marketing operations. You’ll support both the systems that help a marketing organization operate effectively and the strategic initiatives that require strong coordination across teams.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building structure in evolving environments, solving ambiguous problems, and helping cross-functional teams turn strategy into execution.

San Francisco-based candidates are preferred, though candidates elsewhere on the West Coast will also be considered if they are able to travel to San Francisco as needed.
