JD- About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Power BI Developer & Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to own and evolve our enterprise financial data platform. You'll take over a Fabric-based FP&A reporting ecosystem that integrates Finance, Payroll, and CRM data into a single source of truth, and continue the shift from manual, spreadsheet-based reporting to automated, near-real-time self-service analytics for Finance Business Partners and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and administer the Microsoft Fabric platform (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflow Gen2) supporting FP&A and operational analytics.
  • Architect ETL/ELT pipelines integrating ERP (e.g., Sage Intacct), HR/payroll (e.g., Cezanne HR), and CRM (e.g., HubSpot) systems via REST APIs, CData connectors, and On-Premises Data Gateway.
  • Manage automated, multi-daily data refreshes with monitoring, alerting, and Teams-based notifications.
  • Build enterprise semantic models with RLS, standardized KPIs, and Time Intelligence calculations.
  • Develop self-service Power BI dashboards for Revenue, GP, COS, forecasting, budget vs. actuals, and WoW/YoY variance.
  • Partner with Finance Business Partners to automate forecast submissions (incl. VBA-enabled Excel) and streamline month-end close.
  • Ensure data governance, quality, and reconciliation across financial reporting, including GL and Trial Balance.
  • Optimize SQL, data models, and reports for performance at scale.
  • Provide training and support to drive self-service BI adoption.

Requirements

  • Core BI Tools- Power BI (advanced), DAX, Power Query (M), Semantic Modeling, RLS
  • Data Platform- Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflow Gen2, Data Factory, Medallion Architecture)
  • Database & SQL- Advanced SQL (CTEs, joins, window functions), query optimization, Snowflake
  • Data Engineering- ETL/ELT design, dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schema, REST API integration
  • Automation, Alteryx, Advanced Excel & VBA, Power Query automation
  • Programming- Python (Pandas, NumPy), Jupyter (preferred)
  • Domain Knowledge- FP&A reporting, financial statements (GL, Trial Balance), KPI reporting, budget vs. actuals
  • Soft Skills- Stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration (Agile/Scrum), end-user training

Preferred Qualifications-

  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) — required or in progress.
  • Power BI certification (e.g., PL-300 or equivalent); Alteryx certification a plus.
  • Experience integrating finance/accounting (Sage Intacct, NetSuite), HRIS/payroll, and CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce) systems.
  • Media, e-commerce, or professional services background a plus.
  • Exposure to Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Fivetran, or similar ingestion tools a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or related field.
    Success Metrics
  • Reduce manual month-end reporting cycles through automation (benchmark: 70% reduction previously achieved).
  • Maintain reliable, low-downtime automated data pipelines.
  • Increase self-service Power BI adoption among Finance and business stakeholders.
  • Sustain strong data governance and reconciliation standards.
