Software Engineer II - Market Risk

This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office/2 days remote). Our Client is seeking an experienced Full Stack Java Developer to join a small, high-impact team responsible for the development and maintenance of CoChMA (Client-risk Operations and Control Hub for Monitoring Applications), our integrated client services risk management platform, along with various other internal risk and margin systems.

These tools are mission-critical, actively utilized by the Client Risk Management (CR) team to monitor and mitigate client-facing risk exposure across our global operations. The ideal candidate is a technically strong, self-motivated developer who thrives in a fast-paced financial environment and takes ownership of the systems they build consistent with our culture of curiosity, innovation, collaboration, and personal accountability. Design, develop, and maintain server-side application components using Java and the Vert.

Build and enhance front-end interfaces using Vue.js , HTML, and CSS
Write and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to support margin rate governance system, risk and margin reporting
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues in production environments
Work independently and take full ownership of assigned modules and features, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
Continuously improve existing systems through refactoring, performance tuning, and adoption of best practices
Have a desire to learn about and understand financial instruments and concepts.

NO CONSULTANTS OR CONTRACTORS NEED APPLY!!! (Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong emphasis on Java back-end development
x or similar reactive/event-driven Java frameworks
Proficiency in front-end technologies: Vue.js , JavaScript , HTML5 , and CSS3
Strong working knowledge of Oracle SQL , including query optimization and schema design
Experience developing and maintaining applications in a financial services or similarly high-stakes environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
Experience with Perl and/or Python for scripting, automation, or data processing tasks
Familiarity with risk management concepts, margin systems, or financial regulatory frameworks
Experience working in an Agile or iterative development environment
Passionate about writing clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.

You should have a high level of comfort in an environment of continuous integration and deployment. Creating independent automated risk controls and checks to ensure that systems are performing as expected and catching potential errors as soon as possible. Developing message-oriented systems, batch processing applications, and web application-based management consoles.
