Job Description

Job Title:  AUTOSAR Embedded Software Engineer – Automotive

Location: Dearborn, Michigan, 48126 (100% On-site, daily office reporting)

 

Desired Experience Range: 5–8 years of experience

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have
(Ideally should not be more than 8–10)

  • Strong understanding of AUTOSAR Architecture.
  • Experience with SWC development and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with RTE, BSW, and ECU configuration.
  • Expertise in ARXML generation, modification, and analysis.
  • Experience with DaVinci Configurator & DaVinci Developer.
  • Strong understanding of CAN protocol (CAN, CAN FD).
  • Understanding of CAN message structure (ID, DLC, data payload, arbitration).
  • Automotive Diagnostics.
  • UDS (ISO 14229).
  • DIDs (Data Identifiers).
  • DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
  • Service Routines.
  • Routine Control.
  • Security Access.
  • ECU Reset.
  • Experience in DBC file parsing and signal-level encoding/decoding.
  • Familiarity with automotive ECU communication stack or restbus simulation concepts.
  • Experience in C/C++, CAPL, or Python for automotive or embedded tool development.
  • Basic understanding of RTOS or real-time scheduling concepts (timing, jitter, periodic tasks).
  • Experience in hardware abstraction concepts (mapping logical CAN channels to physical interface).
  • Familiarity with automotive test or validation environments (bench or HIL setups).
  • Debugging skills for CAN communication issues and signal inconsistencies.
  • Strong teamwork and ability to work in agile test automation or validation teams.

Good-to-Have

  • Knowledge of dSPACE, NI/LabVIEW, MATLAB–Simulink, Stateflow, and M-Scripting.
  • Overall understanding of Jenkins Automation, Python Scripting, and TestRail.
  • Debugging skills for CAN communication issues and signal inconsistencies.
  • Strong teamwork and ability to work in agile test automation or validation teams.
  • Experience in AUTOSAR architecture, software component (SWC) design, and RTE generation.
