Location: London - Hybrid
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Associate Manager to join a growing Quality Engineering practice within a leading global professional services and technology organisation.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for a senior practitioner moving into management. Youll remain close to the code while taking ownership of tooling strategy, automation frameworks, QE assessments and team leadership across client engagements.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with experience leading engineers, managing client relationships and shaping Quality Engineering strategy.

Key Responsibilities as a Quality Engineering Manager

• Remain hands-on with automation, coding, framework development and code reviews.
• Define and own tooling strategies and automation frameworks across client accounts.
• Conduct QE framework assessments and maturity evaluations, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Lead, mentor and support QE automation engineers.
• Support the development and delivery of Quality Engineering strategies.
• Manage project-level client relationships and communicate progress, risks and recommendations.
• Drive adoption of GenAI tooling, including Playwright with MCP, GitHub Copilot and Claude.
• Contribute to internal QE communities, standards and best practices.

Experience you'll need as a Quality Engineering Manager

• Several years experience defining and implementing modern Quality Engineering practices and automated testing.
• Strong hands-on coding experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java or C#.
• Experience building and assessing automation frameworks, not just using them.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI in a QE context and AI-assisted coding tools.
• Experience defining tooling strategies and conducting QE assessments.
• Experience leading or mentoring QE or automation engineering teams.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative approach with a passion for quality, productivity and continuous improvement.
• Comfortable adapting your technology stack and approach to different client needs.
