Location: Cardiff (Hybrid - a couple of times per month in the office)
Salary: 55,000 - 75,000+ per annum, depending on experience
Clearance: SC Clearance Eligibility Required
CPS Group are supporting a global IT consultancy who are looking to expand their AI and Software Engineering function due to an increase in projects across the Public Sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior AI Software Engineer to design, build and deploy AI-powered applications using Microsoft Azure, working on innovative projects within secure and highly regulated environments.

The Role

Design, build and deploy AI Agentic tools and applications using Microsoft Azure.
Develop production-ready software and APIs using C#/.NET and Azure AI services.
Build multi-agent systems and AI-powered workflows, integrating with existing applications and data sources.
Apply techniques such as prompt engineering, RAG and agent orchestration to improve AI performance.
Implement AI security, monitoring, testing and governance measures.
Take ownership of solutions throughout the full development lifecycle, from initial design through to production.
Work closely with clients and technical stakeholders to deliver AI solutions that meet business requirements.
Support and mentor other engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Required Experience

Strong software engineering experience using C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure. Essential experience building AI Agentic tools and applications. Experience developing and deploying AI solutions into live production environments. Strong understanding of APIs, backend services and enterprise application integration. Experience with Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, AI Search or similar technologies. Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering and AI orchestration. Python experience is desirable but not essential.

Experience working with Public Sector, or other regulated environments would be beneficial. Must be eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.
