Lead One of the North East's Most Exciting Education Capital Projects

Tyne Coast College is seeking an exceptional Senior Project Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering our prestigious and transformational New College Campus development.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced project professional with a strong background in construction, capital projects and decant management to help shape the future of education across South Tyneside and the wider region.

Working directly with the Executive Director of Infrastructure and Transformation, you will act as the College's lead client-side project manager, overseeing the successful delivery of a significant capital programme and ensuring the seamless transition from our existing facilities into a state-of-the-art new campus. The role offers the chance to leave a lasting legacy for thousands of learners, staff and the wider community.

About the Role

You will coordinate a complex programme of work involving contractors, consultants, local authorities, funding bodies and internal stakeholders. Your focus will be on ensuring projects are delivered safely on time and within budget, whilst minimising disruption to teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of the College's ambitious Capital Programme.
  • Managing the planning and execution of significant decant and relocation activities.
  • Overseeing construction and contractor performance.
  • Managing project budgets and cashflows.
  • Producing assurance reports for Governors, senior leaders and funding bodies.
  • Building strong relationships with contractors, consultants, local authorities and other key stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for an experienced project professional with a demonstrable track record of delivering complex construction and capital projects.

You will have:

  • Significant experience managing major capital construction programmes, including decant and relocation projects, to agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Proven experience of working within the built environment, estates, property or construction sectors.
  • Strong understanding of building regulations and health and safety obligations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A recognised project management or construction-related professional qualification and ideally membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a project management role. It is an opportunity to be at the centre of a landmark development that will transform learning opportunities for future generations.

You will join an ambitious organisation with a clear vision for the future and have the opportunity to contribute to one of the most exciting education construction projects in the region.

If you thrive in complex environments, enjoy working on high-profile projects and have the expertise to deliver major construction and decant programmes successfully, we would love to hear from you.

Help us build the future of Tyne Coast College. Apply today.
